Kyle & Karylin Mattera

Kyle Mattera is owner and operator of Dockside Daves. he Began cooking at 15 years old in stone harbor and went on to work in many, well established restaurants on the seven mile island and middle township. After many years of working in different cuisines, kyle found his love for all things seafood. Kyle and karylin run dockside dave’s with the help of their family and friends.

Dockside Daves was Created in 2022 in remembrance of our father, David Alfredo Mattera. Dave was a registered nurse but when he wasn’t at the hospital, you could find him hunting or on a boat with a fishing pole in his hand. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed all types of food and always instilled in us good quality ingredients but most of all, freshness. growing up in North wildwood, he was no stranger to fresh seafood and he sure had his opinion on who’s was best on the island! Growing up with our father dave, we did everything he did; hunting, fishing, crabbing and clamming. in the summers, he would take us crabbing and then, as a family at home, we made crabs and spaghetti for dinner. This is where we got the love for seafood and that is why our menu has such a focus on quality. Unfortunately Dave was diagnosed with cancer in 2017 and passed away shortly after. After over a decade of cooking in south Jersey, his son Kyle decided to venture on his own and start a food truck in honor of his late father.
